| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear, dark amber, with a big, gorgeous 3 finger off-white head that settles into a nice, creamy, rocky cap. Nose is sweet caramel malt, a bit nutty, dark maple syrup comes through in the sweetness. Taste is superb - sweet and malty, with notes of sweet fresh baked bread, roasty bread crust, molasses, and a beautiful nutty note. Finish is very subtly dry, with lingering roasty, bready qualities. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, carbonation is soft. Very close to the perfect brown ale. beerchugger (306), Colorado, USA
