Flavor is largely malts with some caramel note and more nut. It’s not a very exciting beer, but it’s nothing bad, and very enjoyable. It’s definitely one of my preferred brown ales. daknole (2941), Plantation, Florida, USA

This one is dark, but not quite black. Malty and tasty. A bit thin on the mouthfeel, but overall another quality brew from SS. greedycheater (80), Oklahoma, USA

Typical brown ale, light on the tongue with little carbonation, mild taste that is well balanced. littlecarp (128), Redding, California, USA

Burnt malt flavor - burnt coffee. Slight sourness. Aroma is primarily banana. campmonster (9), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 27, 2008 If I had to pick between this, Newcastle Brown, and Bell’s Best Brown, I would pick this. It gets the job done. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Pours a clear, dark orange-brown with two fingers of fluffy beige head. The nose is of sweet, nutty malt, some caramel and a bit of skunkiness. While this is coming from a clear bottle, it is easily the darkest beer in which I’ve ever detected evidence of light damage. Medium-bodied and slick with a nutty, toasted finish, the flavor is nutty, caramel malt up-front transitioning to a clear finish with a lightly nutty aftertaste. This is a solid middle-of-the road brown that went well with my steak. It features nothing offensive and nothing particularly exciting. I’d consider getting it again the next time I want to grab a single bottle of brown to pair with a meal, but I’ll make sure to snag it from the cooler or a darker store. tkimbrought05 (37), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
