Aromas of carmel, earthiness, light cocoa and light nut. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, light cocoa and a hint of nuts with a smooth malty finish. Overall a ho-hum beer. aaronhaywood (74), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Maybe a slight hint of hazelnut. Paperthin head present throughout entire glass. This will definitely be a new regular for me. PaulHegedus (466), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 10, 2009 Bottle. An amber brown brew. The head is about an inch and a half thick, off white in colour. There’s lots of molasses in the aroma with some raisin, brown bread. Mouthfeel is light to medium. There’s some sweetness in the flavour initially, leading to caramel, slightly bitter herbal hops and plenty of dry nuttiness, hazelnut. The finish is medium and slightly bitter. arondee (176), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 10, 2009 Malty burnt caramel aroma with a light brown head. Very small amount of carbonation. Flavor is a little nutty and malty, with a caramel aftertaste. A little watery actually. Pretty good but not my favorite brown. SamGamgee (1436), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2009 55cl bottle. Clear brown with a light beige head. Light fruity and caramel aroma. Sweet, fruity, and light roasted malt flavors with a light earthy hop bitterness. Light bodied with medium carbonation. More character than Newcastle, but still has a worn out, processed feel. Not really bad at all, but almost seems like a shell of a good brown ale if that makes sense. Jhouston (23), New Jersey, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 3, 2009 Pours a nice dark brown. Very little carbonation. I agree that the flavor is pretty weak for the style. I could definatley pound a few back with no problem,but otherwise,wasn’t really impressed with this.
A little too expensive for a pretty ordinary beer also. Not bad,but nothing to write home about. l1br4r14n (286), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 1, 2009 Aroma of sweet malt and hops. Pours a dark reddish brown with a one-finger khaki head. Flavor is kind of weak, I’m picking up some roasted and nutty flavors more towards the finish and a little bitterness in the end but not much more. Moderate carbonation and watery mouthfeel. Easy to drink, but not much going on. favneighbor (8), North Carolina, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Delicious Beer that does not linger on your palate. I sensed the nutty flavor more in the after taste. Overall this is a beer that lives up to its title and is easy to drink. Was very enjoyable.
