Red-brown beer with a strong creamy tan head. Nutty, caramely sweet aroma with some smoke. Sweet full smokey flavour with some syrupy sweetness and a good bitterness as well. Slightly floral finish. Well rounded beer.

Dec 13, 2009 Bottle pour into Sam Adams glass. Wow! Great, deep mahogony color - more reddish than brown. Small off-white head mostly diminishing. Lacing also diminishes with beer. Bready, caramel malt presence. Very smooth and even-bodied beer. I really enjoyed this beer!

Dec 10, 2009 Bottle. Very good looking beer, nice mahogany pour with white head. Aroma is slightly nutty, some crisp malts. Same taste with a rather bitter finale. Decent mouthfeel, well carbonated for the style.

Dec 9, 2009 Pours a nice deep clear brown color with a thin off white head. Aroma is "beer" a nit ofalt a bit of hop a little roast. Kind of midline between all the characteristics you can find in beer. Smooth a little toasty. Good beer.

Dec 5, 2009 What I have come to expect from the brewer: good examples of the names without offending. Malt is a bit bready smelling, could be stronger. Dark but still lets in the light around the edges, nice head on pour, maintains lacing. smooth on the palate, nice but maybe too smooth?? It’s pretty nice, but I can smell an engineered beer here, nothing is in there by accident or serendipity, it was made to be what it is and loses a bit of character for it I think.

Dec 4, 2009 Refigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours out a medium brown with a little tan head that disappears quickly. The taste is woody with a nut aftertaste and has a hint of caramel. Pretty good for the style.

Nov 29, 2009 Pour a amber, walnut brown with a nice creamy tan head. aroma is of bread, nuts, a a ittlle hops. flavor is maly with alot of baked bread, hazelnut, chocolate, with some hops and a litlle sour vinger. Palate is medium-light with a creamy texture and smooth finish. overall, a tasty and drinkable Brown.
