Aroma was very malty and bready. Like slightly burnt toast and coffe. Taste was fantastic. Very coffee like with a hint of oats. A little bitterness at the end... barely noticeable. Very smooth and rich. I was very impressed, this has moved up to the top of my favorites list. Retsof (6), California, USA does not count Feb 23, 2009 Bottle poured and let a nice head develop. This beer is like a nice dessert after dinner. I challenge any beer to be better than this, and hold every beer I drink to this standard if it wants to rank any higher. The body is a nice thick dark body, with a mocha colored head. the aroma is a roasty oat smell. Surprising this has a bit of a sweet flavor, and the oats are definitely present, chocolate, and roasty nut overtone are in the finish. It goes down very smooth, with just a kick of bitterness at the very end. Everything is perfectly blended. This just may be a perfect beer. rustbucket0873 (145), Krikville, New York, USA Feb 17, 2009 Bottle. The color is dark brown, almost black. The head brownish tint and fluffy.
