Droptank (79), Spring, Texas, USA Oct 5, 2008 Black as midnight, sweet as the morning dew. Very good stuff here. Nice stout flavor, subtle oatmeal sweetness balance this out perfectly, not too thick, and goes down quite easily. This is one to try if your not too fond of traditional bitter stouts, yet are a bit curious about the darker beers. Deeelicious!!!! kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 3, 2008 35.5cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown to black with a massive, pillowy and foamy tan head that settles slowly and gracefully laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of maple syrup, honey, toffee, and maybe just faint hints of coffee. Flavor has much stronger roasted malt and coffee notes with fainter hints of caramel, honey and toffee. Some ripe dark fruit notes as well. Generally medium to full-bodied with a sweet malt and slightly bitter coffee finish. Gypsy19 (603), California, USA Oct 2, 2008 An easy drinker here, but if you were expecting a big beer, you’ll be disappointed. Basically a Guinness with a little anise, licorice, and chestnut flavors thrown in. Good, but nothing special. WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Sep 30, 2008 Poured a dark brownish black. Thick tan head with decent retention. Toasted malt aroma and lots of coffee malts in the flavor. Taste is a tad burnt, but not bad. A hint of toffee sweetness. A very nice stout. fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours dark mahogany with a 2-3 finger tan head that lasts and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is rast malt, chocolate, and fresh baked granola. Flavor is very sweet at first, a little oatmeal molasses cookies (just like mom used to make?), and roast malt. Followed by a rich wave of barely sweetened mocha coffee and a little bitter hops for a second right at the end. Mouthfeel is smooth, almost slick at first, dry overall. A great winter snack in a bottle! Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with a 2 finger light tan head and minor lacing. Nose is sweet malt, light roasted barley and mild coffee. Taste is brown sugar, light chocolate, burnt caramel malt and a mild, coffee finish. Mouth feel is fairly light for the style. It’s just ok, but highly drinkable. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Sep 28, 2008 Very, very nice stout. Flavors are subtle until the finish when a huge rush of dark chocolate and coffee hit home. Even though it’s a little watery, still damn good. Cory (16), , California, USA Sep 28, 2008 Bottle. Very smooth and easy accross the palate. aroma of vanilla. A light sweetness with a short finish. My friend said it tasted like an outmeal cookie and i agree. Great beer!!
