EHSRanders (1121), Randers C, Denmark Jun 24, 2008 Bottle. Black colour with large creamy brown mostly lasting head. Aroma is roasted malt with strong notes of chocolate. Sweet flavor with notes of chocolate and coffee. Creamy palate. basewars (144), Albany, New York, USA Jun 24, 2008 One of my favorites.
Pours black. Smells of oats and chocolate. Tastes of coffee, oats, malt. It’s sweet but balanced. Love it. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jun 21, 2008 Pours a dark dark brown, opaque. 2 Finger, tan head.Aroma is mild, slightly sweet, and little bit floral. Taste is...admittedly complex. It seems like theres so much going on here. Caramel and/or coffee malts, something of a licorice taste. Then theres something a bit nutty. It certainly gets better as you go. I’m not completely sold on it, however it is good. Smooth. Tasty. Definitely a solid stout.
spagyetti (68), Puyallup, Washington, USA Jun 20, 2008 Bottle. Awesome! Sweet and flowing with Creamy malty heaven! You have not had a stout, till you have had the sammy smiths! A must! NoiZe (1288), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands Jun 19, 2008 Dark. black colored brew. Nice sweet, chocolate malty aroma. Creamy, malty, chocolate, sweet. Overall nice one. Svensen (10), , Sweden Jun 19, 2008 really enjoyrd this one.Oh sweet bitterness.Black with a creamy medium brown head. Virtually no lace. Aroma of black and chocolate malts, Taste of chocolate malt also, with just enough hops to balance the malt sweetness.
Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Jun 18, 2008 Fantastic brew that I really enjoyed a lot. At the right temperature the nose blows me away. Great stout with a nice, creamy palate. Super malty- chocolate, toasted, brown sugar taste. Not very bitter. I really enjoyed this beer, this is probably one of my favorite stouts ever. ysusi (10), Mexico, Mexico Jun 16, 2008 Aromas started coming out quite slowly, maybe too cold at the beginning. Lots of brown sugar, some chocolate, maybe even some bananas... Very dark with a great ever-lasting dark tan head. Sweet malts dominate the flavors, then some chocolate and roasts. Nice body, although not very chewy, more on the watery side but still right. A very nice sweet stout. So nutritive it could be my everyday breakfast from now on...
