LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark black with a very nice, thick tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, roast, coffee. Flavor is super sweet, with lots of oatmeal, and some roasted malts. The first time I had this I really enjoyed it, but this time I found it too artificially sweet. Ok beer, but I’m not impressed. Palate is a little watery too. realbama (35), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Jun 15, 2008 Updated: Jun 28, 2008I enjoyed this one. It had everything a stout should, but I fear my lofty expectations were not met. Good beer though. NaturalIce (115), originally from Michigan, New York, USA Jun 12, 2008 550ml bottle - gotta love the nutrition you get from this! Very sweet with deep chocolate. Pours out nice thick dark with light mocha colored creamy head. Finishes lightly bitter but very long and sweet for the most part. REDBOSOX (70), Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA Jun 11, 2008 I absolutely love this stuff. This was the first oatmeal stout I ever had. It’s still the best I’ve ever had. This truly is a meal in a bottle. Nice, dark color with a small, creamy head. It’s sweet but not too sweet. The aftertaste is light yet lingers nicely. I buy these fairly often. Great beer by a great brewer! Still my favorite by them. Lakes (18), post falls, Idaho, USA Jun 11, 2008 Poured thick and frothy with a nice creamy head. I found the aroma wanting but I may have a cold. Taste was good with a rich smoky roasted flavor. It’s a bit sweeter than I like but most Oatmeal Stouts are. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 9, 2008 The best oatmeal stout I have ever had. Almost tastes like a Chocolate oatmeal cookie. Absolutely delightful. The girlfriend is a big fan too. djones (116), Michigan, USA Jun 6, 2008 550ml bottle. Very dark opaque brown, with ruby edges. Tan frothy head that diminishes rather quickly, good lacing though. Hints of molasses, toasted nuts, and coffee in the aroma. Lively carbonation at first, yet smooth. Roasted oat, nutty, with a slight hint of coffee in the flavor. Creamy. Light bitter aftertaste with a lingering nut taste. Not as heavy as expected, I like it. UnholyBrewing (448), Melbourne(Mulgrave), Australia Jun 5, 2008 ...bottle. I have to say, this is pretty good. Very smooth, velvety, with great balance. Dark, roasted malt notes, blended with the oatmeal, make it very tasty, and goes well with a nice steak. The finish is just enough to make you want more, worth a try, but it should be stronger to actually be a true stout.
