FlyingSwine (169), Littleton, Colorado, USA Apr 1, 2008 Pours a DARK brown (black) with a thin tan head. Sweet roasted marshmallows. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a fairly nice balance. Palate is extra smooth (silky seems to be overused :-}). Love the session strength. Overall one of the best Oatmeal Stouts around. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Apr 1, 2008 Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout is a black stout with a light cappuchino head. The aroma is malty and roasted and the flavor is very creamy and silky/smooth. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Apr 1, 2008 (3/14/08) Bottle bought at De Bierkoning and drank at a friends’ house in Amsterdam. Black with medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, some oatmeal and some coffee notes. Sweet malty flavor with oatmeal and some drier roasted tones. Medium bodied and a smooth creamy mouthfeel. A good, well-made stout. the6thnitemare (15), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 28, 2008 Pours an opaque black. When holding my glass up to the light all I could see was a faint amount of light coming through the bottom. Relatively thick brew, but still manages to go down smooth. Has a great flavor that I hope to enjoy again and again. campmonster (9), USA does not count Mar 27, 2008 Truly an excellent stout. Distinct flavor that you don’t grow tired of. Toffee and bitter chocolate. Mysterious and playful. slemmert (20), Slagelse, Flakkebjerg, Denmark Mar 27, 2008 Perfect brew in my opp. 3,5 euro for a top brew. Beautiful dark-brown colour with a nice head. Sweet light-roasted smell with hints of bread. Big mouth fill, the oats really add the extra dimension. Aroma of burnt coffee, malt and aged wine! Has a very slight sour finish in the flavour which gives a wine like touch. Amazing what you can get out og just 5% alc. The Sam Smith brew imp. ILoveNewBeer (113), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 25, 2008 Lightly sweet taste to it not too strong. Lighter bodied. Can’t really taste the oatmeal part of it but I still enjoy it.
