Apr 5, 2003 A black beer with a fine light brown head. The flavor is fruity, roasted, and oaty. The flavor is sweet with a slight but nice bitterness and notes of fruit, oats, and roasted malt. A very nice stout.

Nov 23, 2005 (Bottle 55 cl) Pitch black with a neat, little brownish head. Roasted, malty aroma. Quite light in body, notes of roasted/burned malts that don’t leave any real bitterness though. Appears smooth with an unusual underlying slightly tart note. Could be the oats. Unusual. 050201

Nov 18, 2000 Updated: Jun 26, 2004Very dark brown, thin light tan head; aroma like the finest Belgian chocolate mixed with Atholl Brose. I want to fall into the glass. Silky body, fruity notes of cherry, redcurrant add an interesting layer to the silky malts and chocolate overtones. Sweet, luscious finish. One of those beers that leaves you at a loss for words. The classic oatmeal stout - depth without compromising stylistic adherence.

May 4, 2008 35.5 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a slowly collapsing tan head. Mild roasted and smooth malt aroma. Smooth mouthfeel. Acidic roasted malt with a light smoke flavour. Light coffee-ish note too. Light acidic and mild smoke finish.
