Commercial Description:
Originally a drink for lactating mothers, oatmeal stout was described as nutritional on early labels. Oats are in the same family as barley, and a small addition yields great flavor. Popular in the late 1800’s, the last oatmeal stout was brewed before the First World War until Samuel Smith reintroduced this style in 1980.

Almost opaque, with an unusually silky texture and complex, medium-dry velvet palate. Bittersweet finish.

Love it. Once I got hooked, I couldn't get enough. Creamy bowl of oatmeal flavor really comes through, but oh so much more!

I don’t know what it is, but I get high just looking at the this drawing black colour, with this huge cocoa-brown head. Amazing. The aroma is cocoa and coffee. The flavour is silk-smoothe and very pleasant again with cocoa and coffee. Very delicious stout

This is the classic oatmeal stout. Nice palate, sweet as you would expect of an oatmeal stout, but a great balance makes it very drinkable.

This is one of my first ratings. I was blown away! Dark as night appearance with hints of ruby. Beige head that has a beautiful lacing effect. Please note its very rare I would ever use the word "beautiful" in a rating but it fits here. Flavor is a nice balance of sweet and bitter. Hints of chocolate and oatmeal. Silky texture and a pleasure to drink. It can vary because of the clear bottle, but even the worst one Ive ever had was still at least pretty good. Im having a fresh one tonight and its amazing. Awesome beer!

It is so great. This stout tastes better than Guinness. It has a chocolaty color to it and a great semibitter taste.
