Indra (1833), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jan 25, 2001 Everyone I know likes this beer. I liked it so much that I bought an Oatmeal Stout T-shirt! Typically Samuel Smith-ian character all-around (which is to say excellent!)
MrBunn (853), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a nice and big foamy head. Aromas are a little fruity with a kind of balsamic/soy edge to it. Flavor has a lot of oats and cocolate with a bit of creaminess to it. Nice stuff. juliemac (5), , Massachusetts, USA does not count Sep 3, 2008 Aroma of dried fruit (craisins) with a hint of salt and pepper. Delicious, rich taste...the finish reminds me of Triscuits and Valdosta pecans.. Smooth and clean palate, not too much aftertaste. beer_chugger (44), Colorado, USA Sep 3, 2008 Pours a very dark color with a nice thick head. Has aromas of sweet roasted malts. The flavor is much the same. It is sweeter than what I had been expecting, though not too sweet. The finish is well balanced making this a very nice brew. SoberCajun (14), Somerville, Massachusetts, USA Sep 1, 2008 Updated: Sep 3, 2008Pours deep dark brown, almost black, with tan head, dissipates quickly. Milky, chocolately aroma with hints of dried cherries and molasses. Tastes creamy and sweet, feels silky and smooth in the mouth. The balance and carbonation are great, and I love the cocoa aftertaste. Bragesnak (1219), Aarhus, Denmark Sep 1, 2008 From Superbest, Aarhus, DK.
Bottled.
Black with brown head. Aroma is malt and roasts. Flavor is malt with an oily palate. Nice bitterness.
