FlyingSwine (92), Colorado, USA Apr 1, 2008 Pours a DARK brown (black) with a thin tan head. Sweet roasted marshmallows. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a fairly nice balance. Palate is extra smooth (silky seems to be overused :-}). Love the session strength. Overall one of the best Oatmeal Stouts around.
SuperDave70 (641), Arizona, USA Jul 17, 2008 Dark brown/black pour with a creamy long lasting tan head. Aroma seemed to be a bit light, but there was some definate sweet roastiness. Flavor is better. Sweet dark caramel malt and chocolate, plus roasted coffee and grain. Palate is just a little thin, but still overall a very nice stout. BeerEssential (77), Massachusetts, USA Jul 15, 2008 Opaque black with a long lasting off-white head. Mild roasted aroma. Taste is slightly bitter with a non-bitter finish and a sense of the oatmeal...drinks like a meal. Quite a good stout and a great alternative to the usual Guinness, especially at the low prices (under $3 USD for a Pint bottle) this can be had for. Will recommend this to all stout drinkers. Overall impression - KIller drop. sits between coopers stout & the fabled coopers Vintage stout blipp (578), Grand Island, New York, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Sweet aroma, with bread, dough, oats, and coffee. Medium body, smooth, a little thin for a stout. Flavor is way more roasted than the aroma lets on, with notes of coffee, toast, and grass. A great beer, usually my dinner beer of choice. lassem (61), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 10, 2008 Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark brown with a light brown head. The nose is pale with tofee notes. The taste is more vinous than i remember but still with hints of the oats, chockolate and cofee. It has a rather bitter finish. For stouts I prefer a heavyer and thicker palate - this one is too waterish
