Aroma is a bit of malt, but somewhat odd. Taste is more malt than I thought. Not bad, had a bit of an off taste I coundn’t place. lithy (1750), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Pours a deep amber color with a puffy tan head leaves some lacing as it disappears. Nose is almost like sweet brown ales, no detectable hops. Medium bodied ale with a taste like sweet brown malt and only a small hop finish. A very good beer, but so much different from what I’ve come to expect when I see Pale Ale. MrStitch (138), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with an eggshell head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is earthy, malty, and hops. Flavor is pete and earth kind of like a scotch mixed with malt and hops. It’s well rounded in flavor and smooth on the tongue. I can say that the quality of the beer never disappoints, I can always enjoy one. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2008 pours dark, slightly hazy amber, medium tan head, some lacing. i caught floral alcohol and earth in the nose. my first impression of the taste was mud, but as it warmed, i caught creamy caramel and malt. the palate is creamy smooth, with a slightly bitter finish. although i say this about most of the beers i drink, "the more i drank this, the more i enjoyed it". that kicked my overall rating up another notch. so there! dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA

It is a fairly basic beer, but to me it typifies English beer. Very earthy beer. Mellow malts, with English hops that reside just under the surface of the malt. Pours amber with a frothy white head. good lacing. Not terribly adventurous but a great beer every time. gam (1112), brisbane, Australia

Pours a light amber, very clear like stained glass. Aroma was smelled of a typical ESB, caramel and a bit of lightly roasted malt. Flavour was sweet caramel, lightly hopped. Drinkable, however, forgettable. HughConway (367), Washington, USA
