Captures the soul of beer. It has a maltiness that reminds you that beer is a product of the soil. Balance of malt and hops.

550 ml pours amber copper with large, lasting head. Aroma is graham crackers and marshmallows, with some grass and metal hops. Flavor is nice upfront molasses-malt with one of the slower segues to a slight grassy hop-bitter finish. Occasional overarching sour-tart flavors are nice, maybe this is the yeast? Palate is soft and medium-bodied. Excellent beer.

Poured a clear rosy amber with only a few medium tracings of head. Tantilizing malt aroma with subdued hop undertones. At first touch to the mouth the beer gets a bit "fresh" with you and then lays off. Translated, that means the hops are at first fairly aggressive and then recede to the understated,

Bottle 355ml. Extremly nice amber, almost reddish beer with a fairly big, slight mocha head. Nice malt in the nose, nuts, burnt wood, fruits, caramel. The flavours are the same. Some earhiness and a slightly sour, salty taste. Wood, rather roasty. Peaches, caramel. The beer turns bitter to the end with a nice hoppy finish.

dark reddish copper color with white head. couldn’t smell it do to some allergy issues. somewhat hoppy taste with a little bitterness. good thick feel in the mouth very satisfying. enjoy the IPA and oatmeal stout a bit more but still a good brew.

550ml Bottle: My last sample from the Sam Smith’s gift pack at the LCBO. Poured much darkre than I had anticipated, deep blood orange, and offering up a significant head. The aroma is quite elaborate, lots of sweet malt and hop notes, fairly strong yeast. The taste is great by pale ale standards (I know, I know..) with oddly roasted malts, good hopping, some citrus sweetness. Sadly, like my other gift pack goods from these guys, there was a metal taste that was less than pleasing. Regardless, good stuff!

very dark for a pale ale; nutty taste that’s not common within the pale ale community but still a very tasty beer.

Bottle. White head didnt hang around too long. Nice lacing. Good flavor, not as good as their oatmeal stout, but not many beers are.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma is bitter. Smells of Pils-like malts, caramel and hops. Poured amber in color with a medium tan head that mostly diminished. No lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is medium bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of caramel malts and sugar. Earthy. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Long malty finish.
