Apr 3, 2006 Updated: Jul 1, 200622 oz. bottle. This has an okay aroma and appearance, and I thought it tasted good. Unfortunately, it seemed to have a sour, slightly metallic finish that really did not leave me wanting more anytime soon.

Apr 1, 2006 550ml bottle. Clear and ruby hue. Thick off-white head. Fruit and cotton candy and bread from the heady nose. More syrupy and molasses notes permeate as the head deminishes. Also a ginger and spicy nose. Initial is sweet and smooth, with a deep malt character. then the dryness hits you like a ton of bricks. The hops are long, lingering and bitter. I want to say that the brew is balanced, but the bitterness cuts through everything and lasts the longest. Hops are piney and fruity sweet. Second glass, more musty and grainy nose. Malt character and alcohol presence is more abundant as the beverage warms to a more condusive temperature. Hops mellow from dominant bitterness to warming smooth finish. Solid beer from a solid brewery. Nice and dry, but with an apparent fruitiness and malt character.

Mar 29, 2006 Pours an amber caramel color with a thick white head. Aroma is bitter with hints of fresh hops and lemon citrus. Flavor is bittery with hints of lemon, fresh yeast,nuts and caramel toffee. Pretty good overall. This works on a hot sunny day.

Mar 22, 2006 The pour produced a deep resinous body topped of custard-colored head. In the nose toasty caramel appears almost singularly with the slight touch of alcohol. Clearly a simple brew, not offensive in any way but with no enticing complexity. The flavor feels watery, a clear and refreshing mineral water flavor, with the timid appearance of coffee and lemon. Like a harmless lamb there is little sport in assessing this brew but I suppose it has its place on the counter of a British pub where few of the true foxes hide.

Mar 16, 2006 A little darker than most pales. Fantastic solid head. Rich malt flavors. Sublte, soft and earthy. A little skunk. What’s up with the clear bottle?
