Pale amber color with a small white cap of head and a little lacing. The aroma is light with a smidget of hops. Flavor is similar. A little fruity but well made. Probably one of the better organic eers. A little sharp in the finish though.

Nov. 2005 - Pour poured with a lightish color and little head. I could smell sweet honey/alcohol aroma as I was pouring, so good from that standpoint. The taste was sweet, honey and alcohol present. There was very little bitterness in this...I can’t get where people are getting pale ale from and it certainly doesn’t taste ESB-like. It was sweet, probably a little too much so and undercarbonated (a little flat) for my liking. But at least it wasn’t skunked (like so many other SS beers I’ve had including the Taddy Porter from the same sitting).

Pours a light head which dissipates rather quickly and leaves an amber color. Has a sweet aroma, not as hoppy as I expected and a little too fruit. Since taste is subjective, I suppose those who enjoy sweeter beers would enjoy this.

Pours an orange amber color with a small bubby head. Carbonated body with a nose that smells of bread. Tastes caramel like and slightly malty. Aftertaste is not a pleasant bitter but rather striking and harsh. Not that great.

Poured from a 550 ml bottle into a Guinness glass. Dark amber color, with a head that quickly settled to about 1/4 inch and left decent lacing. Aroma of pears. Very smooth and slightly sweet finish. Every sip gave me a slightly sweet taste. Just a super smooth, easy drinking ale. I am trying the Oatmeal stout next. I almost forgot- the carobonation was very slight giving it a nice mouthfeel, much less carbonation than Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

A decent ale. Nothing too special, but nice in that strange Samuel Smith’s tradition of diacetyl and balanced ales. Aroma was the best part of this one, with caramel apples dominating.
