clear amber colour, little foam, delicate hoppiness with light spicy notes, medium-bodied, solid bitterness in a dry finish - well-brewed and pleasant

Hazy amber color with no head. Simple aroma of mild English hops, bread yeast and some caramel. Surprisingly fresh and lively flavor with hints of cracker, hop resin, fruit, caramel and malt. None of the characteristic SS flavors which work for some styles but not for others. Maybe they use a different yeast for this ale. Would love to have on draught.

(on bottle) Had this one after a war-like tasting of some 30 lagers and I really enjoyed it, so I might be a bit colored by surcumstances, but still.. A vrey mild and smooth drink, with a quiet ending. A real everyday enjoyable bitter I would like to have in my cellar.

Sparkling clear apple juice body topped by a large rocky bone white head/. The aroma is full of the Sam Smith’s house character as well as ligth biscuit malt and some fruity hops. The flavor is mild biscuit malt along with a good serving of medium bitter and fruity hops. Light to medium body with a crisp finish. Rather refreshing and fairly nice.

Peach shaded amber with a small whitish head. Nose is malty and fruity with a light hop character and some tea-like notes. Taste is more rich, ripened, fruit flavors with chalky malts and subdued hoppiness. Mouthfeel is a bit chalky or milky with light carbonation feel to it and light bittereness. Finish is more fruit with lighter malt and hops with minimal bittering portions. Not too bad.

tangerine orange and mostly clear, the head is fine and bone white, leaving twisted chalky shards of lace down the glass like bits of broken shark teeth. aroma is somehow very distinctly british, but i unfortunately lack the brewing expertise to divine whether that distinction is owing to malts, hops or yeast-- or the alignment of the planets, for that matter. it smells like orange-tinctured bread dough blooming in yeasty rapture, honey and apricot, clean formica countertops, a vague gum-soled shoe smell, and a sweet grassy aroma that reminds me of certain hippie-era fruit scented rolling papers; but, altogether, generally a very agreeable scent. watery to milky texture, soft carb, a moderate expression of dry green hops that undoes a brief impression created by lightly amber-ized crouton malts. i give a positive nod to the notion of ’organic’, tho in a rating, it’s of course not a factor; it’s not huge, but it IS unique-- at least around our parts--- very few mild american ales can equal this aromatic complexity-- tho it doesn’t pay off in flavor as richly as we’d wish.

Shopping at Whole Food for the first time with my lady... "Okay, so where’s the organic beer?" We rounded the corner, and there it was, chilled and ready to drink... although I waited until after check-out to try it. Golden in color with an off-white head, slight carbonation keeping it active. Nice citric hop and mild roast malt aroma. Fruity, slightly tart taste with a light, sweet malt finish. Nifty beer.

[12 oz. bottle] Golden color with a medium sized white head. Mild aroma of malts and citrus fruits. Taste begins with fruit and sweet malts that gives way to a balanced malt and slightly hoppy flavor with a dry finish and a slightly sweet lingering aftertaste.
