Pours golden copper with a small off white head. The aroma is toasted malt with some light diacetyl, dry caramel/toffee and minor biscuit. Medium lightly rough body with some light sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with some toasted malt, a bit of corn, some diacetyl, lots of phenolic spice and minor hops. The finish is quite phenolic. Okay beer.

purchased from Total Wine in Tysons Corner, VA. Pours clear, gold, some head and mild lacing. Nice balanced malty flavor, not too heavy, clean finish. Not an overpoweringly strong beer, but good balanced flavor, enjoyable.

Bottle. Fruity aroma with malt and flowers. Golden yellow colour with white head. Dry despite plenty of malt with a breadlike aftertaste. Bitter finish with a hint of liquorice.

Bottle. Pours a light golden amber, with a whispy off-white head that leaves no permanent lacing. Aroma is mild and sweet with some floral notes. Light, floral accented flavor with a mild bitterness. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Middling.

it seems like sam smith prides itself at making good english session beers and this one is right on pace. I actually ordered an old brewery pale ale and got this, but thats alright. nothing too distinctive, not overbearing in any taste, balanced between hops and malts, not too much white head and lacing, could envision having about 10 of these in a pub on a rainy day in london.
