550 ml bottle. Pours a very pink ruby color, the 1.5 inch thick head is white with some rose blush running through it. The aroma is strong, very cherry, but nothing else. The cherry smell is very nice. The flavor is very similar, strong sweet cherry flavors but not much else. There is a hint of bitterness on the end, but not enough to balance the sweetness upfront. I was very skeptical of this beer, and while it was very sweet i was pleasantly surprised. It might be a little better with some depth of flavor, but it’s not as bad as the average would indicate, at least to me.

Bottle: I always judge beers within their style, most beers brewed with fruits will come from Belgium I feel that Samuel Smith is doing a good job with this style. Not too sweet, still light and refreshing. I would like a bit more sourness and tart notes. Drank in San Diego.

Pours bright blood orange into a shaker. Pink head with excellent retention recedes leaving slight spiders. Cough syrup cherry aromas. Smooth with front to back sour cherries, slight bitter cherry finish.

Nose of light cherry at pour, after the brew breathes, the aroma is just like cherry cough drops. Pours a clear ruby with copper highlights. The mostly diminishing beige frothy head leaves no lace. The front is very sweet and fruity with a high acidity in the middle. The finish is sharp and brief. The light body is lively and feels sticky at the finish.

Color is a bright ruby amber with good carbonation and a tight fluffy head that has a tinge of pink to it. Aroma is a tart wine like cheery scent. Taste is sweet and fruity. Starting with a lighter body it goes down easy with a kind of creamy feel. Finish is a bright sweet cherry that has a slight tart bite on the end and a very mild caramel tasted taste in the back ground. After taste is dry as the cherry hangs on a bit. Wow this is a kick ass fruit ale, light and easy with great fruit flavor that doesn’t over power.

Bottle at Winking Lizard Crosswoods location. Opaque red with a big pink head. Sweet and tart cherry aroma with some yeast. Cherry flavor with a hint of tartness, but still very sweet. Very kool-aidish.

aroma is intense cherry so I was hoping for something like Lindemans. No such luck. Although the flavor was good and flavorful, it had a strange tart edge to it that I found oddly out of place and not at all like a Lambic. The sweetness tasted artificial.

Slightly hazy bright red colored body topped with a lightly pink colored head. The up front sweet cherry smell is tempered with some malty caramel. There is also a little bit of dried hay. Inviting nose. The taste is bitter with cherry pits and a strong green woody note. There is also a little bit of some old abc gum. This starts out nice enough, but it’s one dimension of fruit just isn’t as pleasurable as some other cherry beers I have tried. Still, it is good to get something different.
