Taste is dominated by cherry cola. Very slight tartness in the finish, more would be nice. Fizzy and highly carbonated with a thin body. Not bad though, certainly drinkable.

Sampled on 12/2/2009. This fruit beer pours a deep cherry color from a 550ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with nice retention and nice lacing. The aroma is cherries, malt and sweet. A medium bodied fruit beer. The malts are fruity and sweet. The cherry flavors and fairly sweet and fairly prevalent. There is some malt in the background, but its mainly cherry. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

Red red poue. Cherry nose. Very sweet. Tastes of cherries. Too much like cough syrup for me.

Tastes great, but almost too fruity. I guess i shouldn’t complain, that is why I bought it, but the backing ale was a bit average for such a storied brewer.

Bottled. Deep bronze hue with a light and airy head. The aroma is huge, and overflowing with sweet, ripe cherry. This certainly drinks with some cherry essence, it’s not nearly as overpowering as the aroma might suggest. This would be delicious with cherry pie, or a chocolate dessert. But it’s a dessert in and of itself. (#3744, 11/19/2009)

Bottle. Maroon pour with a tall, foamy pink head. Aroma is candied cherry, cherry pits, and maraschino cherries. Taste is sweet with cherry, light berry, fruit preserves and light grain. Body is light and bubbly with soft tartness. Ends with more cherry notes, candy, light grains and fruit preserves. I think this ended up being the best of the three Samuel Smith fruit beers, IMHO.

Pours a five+ finger light pink head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Cloudy red/amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Cherry nose. Flavor is sweet cherry but not cloying, hops are hidden. Good session beer. $5.59 for a 550ml bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors Manchester, CT.
