Smell: Pale malts with a pleasant floral note and just a hint of cracked pepper.
Taste: Pale maltiness, lightly sweet and with a vague grainess in the background. A drop or two of citrus. Floral hop character with a mild, restrained bitterness. Hints of caramel work their way in as it warms. Final hop bite on the otherwise sweetish finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A very competent lager from Samuel Smith. patricks110 (285), Alberta, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 8, 2008 Pretty good as pale lagers go. Pale yellow color and a fairly thick head initially but the head fizzes into a very light layer within a very short time. Nice lacing is left though. Not much in the way of fragrance other than a vague smell of yeast and pale malt. Flavor is great, as pale lagers go though with a rich fruity malt taste and a distinct bitter hop finish. (Yes, this pale lager actually has a finish.) This is a great beer for guzzling on a hot day. Refreshing and clean tasting. Nice. ucusty (1908), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 30, 2008 Bottle... Poured pale straw with a white head. Aroma is floral and a blend of hops and malt. This brew is very sweet and buttery malt takes over while there’s a dab of hops for bittering refreshment. Finishes with an acidic, juice-like aftertaste. bhops (334), Dallas, Texas, USA
