Very thin with a moderatley crisp finish. Not a lot of flavor or a lot going on in this one. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 31, 2007 Poured a clear, pale amber color with a big, fat white frothy cap. The nose was of sweet, soft grains and that’s about it. The taste was malty, caramely and crisp with a clean cereal smack in the end. The finish was light and sweet with a medium/light feel. Not as hoppy as I had hoped and it didn’t taste like any lager Ive had. It reminded me more of a White Ale or even a Heffe. It was an okay tasting beer, but there are better lagers out there. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 29, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pure white head. Pale brassy color. Like most SS brews comes in a unique slim bottle, with great classy packaging. I appreciate the effort of an organic brew, but it doesn’t stack up- in terms of flavor- to competing lagers. awwshiz (76), USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 23, 2007 Not completely what I expected from a Samuel Smith brew. As with anything Organic, it’s not as good, its probably not really organic, but it might be bought up buy the elusive hippie demographic. Then again it is a pale lager, so it’s better than its competitors in this market, and its understandable why SS would make this mhot55 (99), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 8, 2007 This actually has some flavor for a lager. Malt breadiness hits you at the first gulp with a crisp hoppy clean finish. good pale golden color with a decent white head. SS has never disappointed me. always high caliber high quality. A little expensive for a "normal" brew patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 5, 2007 bottle - Pours clear yellow with a two finger head that leaves a little lacing. It has a mild malt and grassy hops aroma. The flavor is light and malty with mild hops and corn that frankly has a disappointingly off flavor to it. Sure it’s another pale lager, but I was really expecting something better from Samuel Smith. wilderthanyou (423), Guelph, Ontario, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 2, 2007 I’ve never had any luck with these organic lagers, and this is no exception. Pours a standard pale lager yellow colour with no retaining head and some blotchy lacing. Grassy aroma. Weak dry flavours of hops and malts, very standard and boring in every possible way, this wasn’t very expensive but there is much cheaper and just as good pale lagers out there. Every beer I’ve had from Samuel Smith has been pretty decent up until this one, will not buy again. If you didn’t enjoy this beer, don’t turn away from Samuel Smith brews, there are some good ones, try there India Pale Ale.
