Bottle: Pasteurised
A full-bodied lager with lots of malt and hop character. A touch hoppier than many lagers yet perfectly balanced with lots of fruity hop character and fragrance.

Bottle, at csbosox KC tasting 4/14. Bottle provided by John. Pure gold pour, small white head. Aroma very faint, almost not there. Taste is fairly bland, not much going on with this one. Finish is clean.

Pale with some white head. Oxydized adjuct and light hop aroma. Malty with pleasant bitterness. Light and crisp. Yep, its a beer.

Bottled. Boiled sweet syrupy snout, antiseptic malty graininess. Some discernible grassy hops. Pretty decent lager, but not one of Sam’s best efforts.

Draught at Angels in the Field in Marylebone (London). Was crisp, clean and grassy. Not bad for a lager.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden colour with a small mostly lasting white head. Aroma of grass, some sweetness and hops. Flavour of hops, some maltiness and a slight spice touch. Good refreshing lager.

Light bodied lager with moderate hop flavour. Not very interesting but quite nice on a hot day. Very clean and dry.

Nice pour but like most lagers the head vanishes quickly. Pale yellow in color. Good overall structure and definitely a clean taste but I felt it was lacking something. It tastes almost like those beers (Becks, Heineken et al.) that spend their time in green bottles and have some light affect their taste. Decent lager though, just not the best I’ve had from Sam Smiths.

Pours light golden with a mostly receding white head. Aroma of toasted malt, crackers, bread dough, and light honey. Taste is bready malt and light herbal hoppiness, the classic lager combination. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with lively carbonation. Easy to drink and quite quaffable, I just wish it had a bit more hop and malt character, it’s a bit too clean tasting!
