Hints of citrus and grass come through the bread y and grain y body. Light bitter finish with nothing much to talk about, still a step up from half your average beer store. thejon375 (392), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2009 Looks like a lager. Smells like a lager, a little bit stale and metallic though. Pretty big on flavour. Nice and crisp, very cereally backed up by something boozy at the end and quite a nice, toasty aftertaste. Almost too fizzy. A good flavour but lacks real bite. joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The beer’s best character was the flavor, which had a pleasant fruityness supplied by the yeast that matched really well with the hops used. It really breaks the standard "lager" mold with hop level, so it was really welcome. Aromas carried the cereal-like malts with some light flesh fruits, and a touch of grass. Very enjoyable beer. favneighbor (8), North Carolina, USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2009 This beer was very easy to drink due to its weaker flavors and did not fill me up. Low carbonation, very earthy tasting with a sweet aftertaste. Sweetness was not a sugar sweet but rather a bread or vegetable sweet. The whole beer was very natural tasting. Enjoyed this for what it was. ratman197 (3250), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of bread, light straw and hints of citrus and spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 30, 2009 This is the most disappointing Samuel Smith beer I have tasted. The "full-bodied" line is a bit of a miscasting of this beer. It was very grainy, a tiny bit of hops, and not nearly enough edge or boldness to make a really good beer. A bland concoction.
