Smells like a typical lager. A good beer that tastes better than any macro lager. Slightly better than average malt and hop character. Grassy aftertaste. This is the beer to have with a meal or on a hot day served up really cold. envane (251), Evanston, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2004 Possibly better than their regular lager, but I’d have to taste them side by side to be sure. Rather pronounced honey, applish malts, like a Helles. Could use a tad more hops. Good. mrfosters (17), New Jersey, USA

It poured an extremely pale gold, though the head was decent. The flavor was balanced , but weak, and very little carbonation . I did a side by side with their pure brewed lager and it is a much better beer.Good idea that didn’t pan out, at least for me . YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 3, 2004 Samuel Smith is one of my favorite English breweries. Lagers are another story. When I think lager, I think BMC. Many I’ve tasted are not much better. This pours a pale amber with a decent foamy white head. But nothing sets this apart from any other blah lagers in the field. Weak, watery, grassy, faint malt and hops. Just mediocre beer. BeerandBlues2 (3231), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 22, 2004 Pours a pale yellow with a white head; some thin lacing. Aroma is sour malt with a hoppy nose. Flavor is sour malt. The palate is fizzy and mild. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA

Tasted like grass though. Didn’t like it. biznizness (956), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 7, 2004 Average lager. I’ve come to expect less from "organic" things in the taste department because they are healthy, but I guess you can’t say that about beer. So I don’t know what the point of an organic lager is. Really nothing special, take a pass on this one. presario (3009), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
