Purplish-red color with a medium pink head. Raspberries, malt and a hint of cinnamon on the nose. Strong rapberry flavor, not too sweet, with a tart finish. Maybe a little too carbonated. Quite nice and very drinkable.

Dec 6, 2009 Sampled on 12/6/2009. This fruit beer pours a dark reddish (raspberry) color from a 550ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is raspberry, malt and sweet. A medium bodied fruity beer. The malts are raspberry, fruity and semi-sweet. There is a touch of tartness here. Again there is some malt in the background, but the fruit flavor dominate. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Dec 5, 2009 Bottle via the rip and run. Expected semi murky pinkish red, Thin thin film with carbonation lily pads. Nose of you guessed ti...raspberry. Body is light plus and tart...duh. sweet tones abound in finish. A lighter version of Lindemans lambic without the cork.

Nov 27, 2009 I visited Melbourn in Stamford back when it was independent of Samuel Smith, but I was reasonably pleased to see it picked up by Samuel Smith, if only because it offers the possibility of being more accessible. Say what you will, these can be very satisfying fruit beers. In this case, the raspberry notes are luscious and lingering, with the classic Melbourn smoothness in the palate (though there is some tingling carbonation, too) and a well balanced flavor profile. I had this with a chocolate truffle and it was an excellent way to finish the evening.

Thin foamy mild lace pink head.Clear dark bright purple red color.Huge raspberry floral fruit front.Slightly sour mild sweet surprisingly thick rich raspberry malt body.Dry sweet clean citrus spice crisp refreshing end.Over the top raspberry, but tasty.

Nov 16, 2009 Sampled from a 550 ml brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant pink-fuchsia with a huge dark pink head. The aroma was musty, tart and fruity. The flavor was tart raspberry jam with notes of sugar and must. The finish was medium length berry. Fairly full bodied. Very one dimensional but quite pleasant. Good.

Nov 13, 2009 pour is dark translucent maroon. aroma is of pure delectable raspberry jam with twist of orange essence to boot. flavor is overpowering raspberry with any beer like elements stomped to death by a melee of fruit. palate is the star, while sticky an off note reminiscent nearly of raspberry seeds saves things to an extent.

Nov 6, 2009 Aroma is very strongly of raspberry - and I love raspberries! There are hints of malt and yeast. It pours clear and a color right on the border between dark copper and mahogany. Head is off-white and fairly thick. Flavor is malty with a firm overtone of raspberry, a little sweet and a little sour; finish is quite fruity-sweet. Texture is smooth and a little fizzy.

Oct 30, 2009 Bottle. Maroon bodied not unlike a red cough syrup. Tall beige and red colored head. Nose is grainy bread, raspberry jam and sugary sweetness. Taste is also very sweet but tasty, not unlike Lindemans fruit lambics. Raspberries/berries with grainy , bready notes, sugary berry jam, and light tartness. Bod is light and very bubbly with a mild tartness.Ends with more raspberry and berry sweetness and tartness, bready malts, and slight grainy flavors and raspberry jam. Not too terrible but if you’re going for a dessert beer, it could be a bit better.
