definitely not what I was expecting compared to their Nut Brown Ale. I was hoping this lager to follow suit, but it failed miserably.

It was a nice tasting, slightly spicy lager. Nice golden color, tasty head. Just....not amazing. You know their other beers are to die for...but this...its just okay.

A sub par lager to say the least. Not much positive I can say about this beer. Aroma was weak. Could pick up some skunk and light malt. Pour was a light gold with a fluffy one finger white head. Taste was a little flat with some malt shining through. Not enough carbonation but a nice somewhat hoppy aftertaste. All in all, though, this is the worst beer I’ve had from this brewer.

Bottle from IHB trade fest thanks Paul. My first Sam Smith’s lager...anticipation is maxed. The pour reveals a liquid that can call itself a proper lager....straw-gold with a frothy white 3 finger cap..good lace. Aroma is a tad sweeter than I like in a lager but there are ample bready notes and some dry hay. Malty sweet with light stabs of target bittering, some floral essence here, light fruity notes???...clean finish. A substantial beer but has too many tastes in it that should not be in a lager...although it is well made and satisfying

Pale yellow color with a foamy white head. Aroma of light bready malt and just a hint of flowery hops. Taste mellow but unoffensive - initially some citrus but fades into more generic bready/corny malt with only a dash of bitter hops in the finish. Not bad for a lager, but I’ll take any other Samuel Smiths offering over this whenever possible.

Draught in London. Delicious taste, slightly bitter but pleasant. Refreshing as well. Golden colour, with slight head. One of the best lagers I’ve had for sure.

Draught @ The Chandos. Pours nice golden / crisp colour. Aroma is grassy / with a sweet almost honey like smell. Taste is light and refreshing and miles better than the likes of Stella etc. A great effort.
