Hmmm, hard to believe I have made it this far with out rating this one. The first think I note is that this is a brown bottle not a clear bottle like other Sam Smith beers I have had. Maybe this one will not be horribly light-struck. Also now that I think of it why I am drinking a lager from England? Clear golden body topped by a lasting foamy whote head. Lace is nice. The aroma is grassy, lightly metallic, and a touch skunky. Flavor-wise it is ok, but I pick up what tastes an awful lot like adjuncts. Maybe it is just the light skunk but seems like it to me. Fairly refreshing though.

16 oz bomber. Pours out clear golden in color, whipped egg white head, lively carbonation. Sticky lace.
Sweet floral aroma dusted with a touch of grain.
Flavor is crisp and clean, sweet malt upfront, with a clean dry finish.

Golden colour with an initial burst of large lacey bubbles and a white head that didnt last.A sweet almost shandy taste, good lager- streets ahead of the mass produce rubbish that is readily available.

Pours light golden with a thin fully receding off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, with notes of biscuit and honey. Taste is light cookie, herbal, honey, and crisp malt. Medium to full bodied with full carbonation. Satisfying sessionable lager.

Another fine brew from a great brewer. Nice and crisp with a floral aroma and taste. Perfect for the warmer months.

Pale gold in its color with a small development of haze occuring. Thin fluffy white head thats almost a fizz. Honey and a small iced tea is the aroma given off. Surprisingly bitter with a striking resemblance to a premium ESB and that could maybe why i actually like this lager. Flavor is slightly sweet with a small hint of honey and malt in the background. Took me months to find a store that had this beer.

Bought from a tiny wine shop in Musselburgh, forget the name I’m afraid, very near to Brunton Hall and Staggs pub, great selection of beers, can be pricey though. This is great! smooth and malty, with a complex aroma and a fantastic finish.I’ve enjoyed this for years, but it is so difficult to come by in Scotland.

From a 550ml bottle. Poured a bright gold with a very light whiote head that dissipated within 2 minutes. Little if any lacing. Tiny sparking bubbles. The smeel was almost non-existent but sweet, like fresh cut grass. Smelled a bit creamy? I must admit I was a bit disappointed when I tasted it. Tasted of light, bright malt with just a hint of hoppy aftertaste. Light bodied and pleasant but nothing special whatsoever. What a letdown! However, as it warmed a bit and I got used to the subtle flavors (I had the whole 550ml in one sitting so these impressions are from the second glass) it is remarkably complex for a light lager. I would attribute this to two things: 1. The hops that are used are different from the hops I have tasted in most American light lagers. (My buds aren’t sharp enough to tell what kind) 2. There is a subtle creaminess similiar to the creamy taste of their oatmeal stout. One of my new favorite lagers but I really had to give it a chance.
