Bottled. Rich gold with malty nose and rapidly diminishing head. Has a hoppy dryness and a hint of sweetness, a league away from the usual English gutrot sold as lager but not quite in the Premiership.

If it were not so damn expensive, this would be my every day beer. A nice strong taste, but not overpowering. It does not have a skunky smell either. Good quality stuff.

For a lager, this really impressed me. It poured a rather attractive shimmering gold with a nice thick white head. Aroma was a fairly weak grassy hoppiness with a slight skunkiness. Flavor was much the same, but with a hoppiness that I consider excellent in a lager. Thin as I expected, but a really well-balanced flavor. An excellent match for the New York Strip that it accompanied on the table.

I enjoyed this beer but prefer the darker, heavier beers from Samuel Smith. My first premium lager so I have nothing to compare to.

From the bottle at Yeoman’s Road Pub. Literally the only lager I’d drink on a regular basis. I have never found a lager (a style I don’t like) that I like better than this.

Yellow...rich head...smells malty and grassy...tastes like a yellow beer, but Crocket is right, nothing else...just tastes like beer...did leave a sweet medicinal aftertaste...that did conflict me just a touch...

Pours clear gold with a gigantic white head. Aroma is soft and earthy malt, with just a trace of skunked hop. Tastes pretty average until you realize how clean it is. It doesn’t have any adjunct flavours at all. It’s incredibly normal. It doesn’t blow your socks off, but is the style supposed to? Very good in a fairly broad grouping.

When compared to other lagers, this is pretty good. But, there just isn’t much too it. It is sweet with crisp carbonation and barely any bitterness. A very refreshing beer, but not much else.
