Very light colored lager. Some head retention, which is nice. Straw, corn and slight fruit aroma. Flavor is balanced I'll give it that. Besides that.. not much else going on here. I guess it's a unique lager, but it's still bland and uninteresting. I wish they would get rid of this lager, and use the brown bottles on their better offerings... if this were in a clear bottle, it would be repugnant if skunked. Not appealing to my taste buds but maybe some of you hardcore lager fans will find it interesting....

A very interesting beer. Like most Samuel Smith selections, very soapy-looking bubbles when poured which is unique, kind of like a signature. The aroma is almost overwhelmingly sweet, belieing an almost bitter taste. I wouldn't say it is bad, but I am not particularly fond of it. I would recommend this beer however, as it is something unique.

Great big head of soap bubbles. Strange looking head on top but settles nicely with ok carbonation. Very soft aroma with malt, corn and some other mellow aroma that I cannot place. Color is a medium gold. Flavor is not bad but not that great either. Mostly malt with a little bit of grainy hops. Not bad for a lager. Finish is a bit tart and crisp. Blah, Blah, Blah. It's a lager and therefore cannot be a very good beer. But this one is better than most for the style.

Light straw color that's lightly hazy and has little whispers of carbonation coming up from the bottom. The head dissipated fast and was very "fizzy". No lacing either. The aroma is dusty with grains and has a light citrus/astringant hop lingering in the smells too; not very smooth, more assertive. The flavor is a little too sweet and flat for a lager. Not the usual dry finish with crisp hops in the end. The malts creep in but stay sweet. The mouthfeel is a little tangy but mellow. Finishes a little more balanced. This is a decent lager, definately one of the better ones in this bleak (flavorwise) category.

This light golden beer with its frothy white head is a good example of a pale lager. It has a hoppy aroma, crisp and clean, excellent carbonation. Lively w/ a slightly bitter finish.

Not much to say, that the commercial description does not already cover. The appearance is clear and yellow, with a fizzy soda head. The aroma is malty and bready, with alot of grass. The flavor is lightly astringent, with a really bad aftertaste. I did not care for this one, but then again I have never been a big fan of lagers.

The color is very similar to that of light American lagers, but this is obviously a much better beer than them. There was little head on the beer. The aroma was somewhat sweet and I thought I noticed a hint of an apple juice aroma. Taste was a nice balance of sweet and I thought I noticed a hint of carmel.

While the English can't compete with the Germans in Lager production, this isn't a bad English endeavor. Bright, clear, golden color and a flowery hop and malt nose. Nicely balanced sweet malt and bitter hop flavor with a pleasant finish. Not bad.
