180 ml bottle. Clea deep amber with a modest off-white head. Aroma is raisiny. Smooth and warming with sweet flavours of fruit and marzipan. Medium bodied. Quite good.

Sweet vanilla nose. Pours clear but headless. Rich and sweet yet tangy. Finish is a bit astringent and cloying - I’ve certainly had better barley wines - but it doesn’t suck.

Bottle. Best by Jan. ’07. Clear amber, thin creamy head. Toffee pudding aroma with vanilla. Smooth on the palate with caramel, marzipan and a bit of ash. Long alcohol burn. A little thin in body. Pretty good though.

Surprisingly blonde and a rich head. Chewing gum and higher alcohols plus ripe fruits in aroma. Taste is woodsy, lots of alcohol, apple, prickly pears, plastic glue. Fortunately the aftertaste is not very long. Disappointing.

Bottled: Dark golden coloured. clear. Beige dense head. Alcohol, sweetness, fruit and light liqourice in the aroma. Flavour of plums, sweetness, distinct alcohol and some vague smokyness. Is very madeiraish. Medium bodied. Has a sweet and alcoholdense finish. Quite easy to drink dispite the hight ABV.

Thanks to SecretSanta! Clear amber / gold body... small, mostly lasting, creamy off-white head. Nice looking. Aroma is light with perfumey hops and some stale malt. Reminds me of when I "iced" a New Glarus Barleywine. Some whisky and fruit... raw pomegranate. Its light but not bad. Flavor is also light... mostly sweet and malty, with slightly hoppy fruit and some whisky oak and alcohol. Some model glue in the finiah. Its kind of one-dimensional, but isn’t too bad. Though, its probably good to be in a small bottle.

Pretty golden colour with a small head. Aroma is dominated by malts and alcohol (whisky) while the flavour is extremely sweet and malty but also with hints of fruits (ripe apples?).

Beautiful clear amber color with fine head. Strong taste with fine flavors somewhat alcoholic.
