Courtesy of madmitch76. The 6oz bottle pours crystal clear copper with gold edges and thin off white head. The aroma is full bringing up a rich combination of sweet caramel candy and dark fruity esters like dates, prunes, boysenberries and figs. Each draw ends with a touch of alcohol heat. Smells yum! The taste is very similar with a medium body ushering in rich caramel goodness mixing with dark fruity esters. It dries out a bit to midway with a touch of roasted malts and fading caramel and sweet dark fruity esters. It ends with lingering sweet caramel, prunes, dates and ripe cherries. Nice stuff.

bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Clear amber colour, oily texture, small head. Intensive malty nose. Very full-bodied, sweet malty flavours balanced off with a nice touch of fruit and some aromatic bitter hops in the lingering finish.

Bottled (CK, BB 07/2009). Clear amber color, small white head. Strong syrupy aroma of honey and vanilla, also loads of not so pleasant fruity alcohol. Full bodied, quite flat carbonation. Sweet grainy flavor: green apples, honey, some vanilla. Not really complex. Simple alcohol bomber but still kind of ok slow beer.

(Bottled) Slightly hazy amber-golden with a small head. Aroma of sweet malt, brown sugar, hints of chlorine, vanilla, anise. Sweetish, very grainy-malty flavor with dried fruitiness and brown sugar, some vanilla and light spiciness. Like a sweet dessert wine. Medium to full body with low carbonation. A very balanced and quite enjoyable, although not hugely complex, dessert barley wine.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured a clear amber colour with a thin off white head. Seriously floral and sweet aroma...honey, bubble gum, syrup and malt. Niice. Flavour was sweet malt with a hint of fruit and spices. Soothing and warming. Lingering and multi layered finish, that was once more sweet, fruity and slightly dry. Good things do sometimes come in small packages.

Bottled (from Cracked Kettle). Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is quite fruity, alcoholic and also has some biscuity notes. Flavour is smooth fruits, some wood as well as alcohol. Not really a complex brew, but indeed very balanced and drinkable.

180ml bottle from Utobeer. Deep amber with a bit of head. Sweet biscuity malt in the aroma, alcoholic but not too sharp. Very smooth in the mouth. Flavours of peach and apricot with a subtle alcoholic warmth. Light palate for a barley wine. Definitely a drink for sipping but overall, given the strength, I’d have expected stronger flavours.
