(18 cl bottle, thanks Pelle from The Rover!) Clear copper to light brown color, tan head which is looking very good for a BW! Grainy, sweet almond paste and alcohol scent. Vinous, red wine and harsh bitter taste. Toungue shrimping mouthfeel. Harsh grainy bitterness.

Bottled.Thx rlgk. Deep golden with a short, bubbly head. Very fruity and malty, but maybe a little thin. A lot of sweet maltiness though; chocolate, toffee and raisins.

Amber, almost no head. Malty, fruity aroma, grapes and some sweet fruits. Malty toffee flavor, almost sugary, chocolate notes, some alcohol and some raisin.

Creamily bodied, headless, red amber Barley Wine whiffing of sweet, cakey malt and butterscotch. Hints of caramel and madeira cake with a dusting of gingery spice. Finishes quite drily. No stickiness or burning alcohol whatsoever. A wickedly drinkable bedtime sipper.

Clear and golden brown color. Has brown-light-yellow head. Mostly diminishing. Sweet, malty aroma. Flavor full of sweet, malt. Port. Perhaps citrus. Oily texture.

Bottle. Dark gold with a small head. Aromas are sweet caramel malts with pear, brown sugar, spices and lots of alcohol. Flavours are sweet and syrupy caramel and toffee malts with some burnt toffee notes. Sticky sweetness with caramelised Autumn fruit. Prickly hops on the finish with fair bitterness. Good stuff.

The aroma is malt, but a dark carmelly sort. Translucent amber color. Not much head, but there is transient lacing. The start is malty sweetness, kind of thickly coating the tongue. The mouthfeel is substantial, and the malt candy aspect is offset by some stone fruit contributions. The somewhat sticky sweetness goes on into the finish, where it is reasonably balanced by hop. Really quite fantastic.

Bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Poured a rich golden colour with quite a bit of sweetness from the malts showing themselves in the aroma. I didn’t mind this but felt that the alcohol was just too harsh to really get into it, bit sticky and fruity but that alcohol was just so difficult to get away from.
