Had this right after an Avery New World Porter and this doesn’t stack up... Not much flavor, thin, and slightly acidic/bitter at end - I will pass

really nice porter. Pours a deep brown color with a tin off white head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Flavor is similar with a touch of sweetness and a nice little bitter kick. Really nice porter.

Bottle. Pours dark ruby brown with a creamy tan head that lasts ages. Aroma has notes of chocolate, licorice, roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Flavour Flavour is very similar, with the roasted malt upfront and the chocolate, licorice and coffee playing supporting roles. Surprisingly light body and high carbonation, with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. A very fine porter overall.

Pours black with a brown creamy head. The aroma combines sweet caramel and chocolate with a strong roasty element. The flavor is first dominated by a sweet coffee and chocolate which is just slightly bitter and sour with the finish.

550 ml bottle from Keller’s IGA. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a huge frothy tan head that laces the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, and toast. Flavor of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, nuts, and metallic and medicinal notes. Medium bodied, rich, semi-sweet, and bitter. Has a chemical element in it that was off-putting to me. Otherwise, a decent porter.

Pours dark brown with a large, persistent off-white head. Aroma shows a fair whack of roasted malt with some dark chocolate and nutty notes. Some diacetyl still manages to show. There’s also quite a bit of grainy-ness in there which I’m not a fan off. Flavours are quite similar to the aromas, with mildly roasted malt and nutty notes. Hint of liquorice and burnt toast shine through. Thankfully there’s none of that grainy malt found in the aroma. Carbonation is quite prickly, something I don’t like in porters and stouts.

pours out thick and heavy with the color of a dark night with a nice thick frothy, bubbly head that was beige in color and left really nice lacing in the glass. the body is dark and black with no light penetration. the aromas are pretty strong compared to others and i get caramel and toffee, with roasted malts. it is full bodied and delicious. not to sweet nor bitter, perfect balance in harmony. i taste dark chocolate, roasted barley, a little peppery, sugar, plum, chives in the finish(very nice), and the "littelist" hint of coffee. the aftertaste is what i would say is dry, but fulfilling, and not lingering leaving a not so desirable finish. very nice brew and at the price i got it for, i felt like i was stealing it(2.99$). very good brew.
