Aroma is yummy so very yummy, milk chocolate, banana, a hint of coffee, and hints of berry like perfume, so dam good. Taste is just as tasty as the aroma, rich but easy drinking. Slight coffee that leaves a lingering bitterness, smoke, and chocolate all come through. I swear I’m getting a creamy raspberry in the finish but its extremely mild. As the beer warms a hint piny hops chows it self but luckily doesn’t dominate the taste. This brew lives up to its legend and I think it will have reserved space in my fridge from now on. "

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Aroma - Light malts, light vanilla, light plum. Appearance - dark brown with large tan head with medium retention. Flavor - roasted malts, light coffee, light chocolate, light raisins. Palate - medium body, thin feel, slightly astringent finish. Overall - This is a good beer but not great. It’s really light on taste and just not very memorable. I’m pretty disappointed by this one. Rciesla (3865), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2009 Pours a thin tan but culminates into a very dark amber with standard beige head. Smells of plum, sugar cane, and roasted malt. Tastes of roasted malt. Carbonation is a little strong for my tastes. There are some good flavors, but they don’t stay on the palate as long as I’d like. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, some vegetal notes, and bready malt. Flavor is predominantly bready malt and some roasted notes, but this really isn’t like your typical porter. Weak palate. Meh, I’m not digging this.
