| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Bottle (500ml). Poured extremely dark brown (virtually black) with a small, dense, lightly tanned rocky head which lasted well. Aroma was of toasted malts with dark chocolate, earthy hops, coffee, blackberries, light notes of horse blanket and a touch of vanilla. Flavor was of chocolate malts with a mild lactic sourness, toast, black coffee, light earthy notes, hints of blueberries and a dry finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry/toasty mouthfeel, almost chewy texture and a good length finish. HenrikSoegaard (4430), Randers, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 1, 2009 550ml bottle from Bentalls, Kingston-on-Thames. Deep mahogany with a thin tan head - fast-fading to leave a slender ring; aroma of demarara sugar and well roasted barley; creamy and light in the mouth without being thin, lots of chocolate malt and some sugar, but not too sweet;dry finish with roasted nuts and some licorice, leaving a silky smoothness behind. An excellent porter.
