Mar 23, 2009 Bottle. Sweet, nutty, smokey aroma. Dark brown with an average tan head. Sweet roasted malt flavor with a slightly sour note and a light bitter finish. Very smooth and rich, you can make a dinner out of this beer. Medium bodied, creamy, average carbonation, with a dry finish. This is a great English Porter, I think this is the beer that inspired all the American breweries to put a twist on the Porter.

Taste: roasted malt, coffee, licorice, chocolate, dark fruit, caramel. Dry finish. Nice smooth, creamy, easy drinking english porter.

Mar 8, 2009 Dark red with a very creamy white/tan head. Nose is sort of a fruity almost cherry-like malt. Mouth-filling flavor is roasted malt that is very sweet but not overly so. Finish is clean with little to no bitterness. Tastes slightly yeasty to me. Very drinkable, but a little flat.
