Bottle. Pours a jet black with a nice beige head. The taste is mostly a burnt malt and hops. Smooth and easygoing. Good, not comparable to the Oatmeal Stout.

Great chocolate and coffee aroma. Looks reddish black with a thick tan head. Flavor is smoky, coffee, chocolate, and malty. Palate is thick and coating with moderate carbination. Overall an excellent, smooth porter.

550ml Bottle: Finally! I’d had my eye on this one for some time but it’s not generally available around here - thank God for LCBO gift packs. It’s extra-awesome when you look forward to something this much and you aren’t let down. Pours jet black, reasonably dark brown head; believe it or not this comes in a clear bottle! Could have fooled me. The aroma is wonderfully complex, with everything you’d hope for - chocolate, espresso, smoky malts.. wow! The flavour is terrific with all the above alongside some fruity, caramel-ish sweet notes and great hopping that surprises you with a dry finish. Wow!

quite hoppy and the barley comes through in a pleasant nutty way, good malts, overall good taste but not too powerful, excellent casual understated beer

Beige, pillowy head, very malty flavor. Flavors of coffee and chocolate, and a dry finish. One fills me up plenty, and I like it very much.

Bottle (Citty of Yorke, London) Black, thick creamy cappucino head. Creamy coffee and malt on the nose. Wonderfully rich malty taste, with more coffee.

Thick creamy head with medium lacing. Leans more to the bitter side rather than sweet. One of my favorite porters, I’ve tried.

Near black colored, slight red hints. Medium sized beige head. Strong aroma, very close to Samuel’s oatmeal stout: roastiness, sweet licorice, chocolate, berries, good porter touch. Medium bodied. Flavor is milder with still roastiness and coffee dominating, somehow thin watery palate. Aftertaste dries with caramelly berries and hops.
