Bottle. Pours solid, opaque black, with a thick, tannish head. Aroma is unique and complex; very sweet with hints of licorice, chocolate, malt, and cherry. Body is extremely firm, with a powerful finish. Very nice porter.

Bottle. Pours a rich black with a moderate amount of tan head. Nice lacing and durability on the foam. Aroma is richly of cocoa, cherries, and anise. First taste is solid porter. Very dry and crisp mouthfeel, with sweet molasses, chocolate, and bitterness. Also, a roasted quality is consistently present. There is a detectable note of coffee, tilting toward espresso. Very nice example of the style.

As always SS gives classic renditions of english styes. This beer had all the deep dark color and roasted barley goodness accompanied with the full but not overwhelming palate that makes porter simply my favorite.

Bottle. Black body with a medium tan head. Light roasty, milk chocolate, light coffee and cara mel in aroma. Medium to full bodied. Mild roasted flavour with some bitterness and notes of coffee and light chocolate.

Dark chocolate body with creamy milk chocolate head. Milk chocolate aroma, matly, with a chocolate vinous note across a clean roasted plain. Nice malt and chocolate complexity. Roasted, but with no roughness. Hint of coffee, though chocolate prevails. Well crafted and streamlined complexity. Truly enjoyable, flavorful, sessionable porter.

What can I say...wow! This porter is fantastic. All the right blends of toffe, malt, and strong coffe. The finish is like dessert. Very smooth and full rich mouthfeel.

Pours dark brown, black in the glass, with a one-finger tan head, fine and lasting lacing. Mouth-watering aroma of molasses, vanilla, coffee and banana bread. Medium body, velvety, smooth, crisp and a tiny bit dry. Dark chocolate malt flavor, with some lighter fruity notes, coffee, and citrus. Well balanced and drinkable.
