Dark with a small beige head, not getting much of that carbon dioxide, which is appropriate. Aromas of an old liquor cabinet with some ash trays stacked in the corner. Dry, roasted and nutty in the mouth. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 1/30/2008: Sam Smith Taddy Porter has a great aromatic blend of dark chocolate, hints of smoke and cream. The beer is very dark brown with a falling tan-brown head that is dense and long-lasting and leaves prolific lacing on the glass. Dark fruits, milk chocolate and some cream and smoke are all present in the flavor. The beer has a moderately-full body and feels smooth and creamy in the mouth. Overall it is very good.
355 ml bottle. Rating #1294 for this beer.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 23, 2009 550 ml brown bottle. Pured a thinner looking blackish/brown with an unimpressive bubbly light beige head. Aroma is sour milk, coffee, and milk chocolate. Other notes floating around include some moure sour lacto notes, floral notes and slight malty roastiness despite the obvious obscure placement. Body is thin, very thin, way to thin for the style, and watery sort of like lemon water. I can see why this beer should rate so high I just don’t understand why it does. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Definite cane sugar and roasted malt presence in the aroma, but with the richess of a Baltic Porter (Okocim). Dark mocha head and opaque pour. Flavor contained almonds, cane sugar and coffee malts. Palate is bubbly and creamy. A well done porter, but perhaps a bit overrated. madvike (343), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Poured deep brown with a small head. Surprisingly not much smell--there’s some chocolate, light roast, and lactose. Tastes of coffee, a little roast and some smoke. There’s a bitter finish, and it’s smooth and creamy. Overall just not much going on in the nose or in the mouth. Disappointed. leems (149), Portland, Oregon, USA

Aroma is toasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is a little tangy, roasty, caramel. Yum. Tadcaster is for me. BroSpud (606), , Massachusetts, USA
