Efferevescent, rocky white, thin two-finger head that settles onto a clear, orange brown body--tracing present throughout drinking...sharp malty scents with fruity citrus esthers reminiscent of an IPA, but the hops are well-balanced here...smooth entry with a bit of texture and a bubbly end... otherwise, casual in its presence... malt initially impresses...mellows quckly with a minimal bite of hop...alcohol is subtle--pleasant but not harrassing... maltier and fruitier than I expected--and this is a good thing! A beautiful overall effect in the sense and a fitting compliment to a snowbound evening....

Packaged in their traditional pint sized, aluminum foil wrapped bottle, looking like a gourmet malt liquor. Pours a brownish copper color, nice head and a pretty good amount of lacing left on the glass. Smooth malt aroma, while the flavor is a spicy malt at first then you get a great hoppy bite. Very well balanced and smooth. I haven’t yet tried a Samuel Smith’s I wouldn’t have again, and this is no different.

Bottle. Light orange amber pour, with small lacy head. Aroma is fairly sweet and malty, but not overpowering by any means. Flavor is of lightly roasted malt with a little bit of nuts. Maybe a faint hint of wood.

12 ounce bottle- poured a nice copper orange with a thick golden head. Aroma was nuts and malt. Taste was better than average, stong malt with a nice finish.

550 ml bottle. 2007/2008 Edition. Pours a clear deep copper with a moderate linen white head that lasted through two-thirds of the glass. Pleasant aroma of malt, floral hops and just a hint of citrus. The flavor is again malt with some light spice and again just a hint of citrus. Light bitterness at the finish. A decent beer but not memorable.

Poured a nice copper color with a small white head. Aromas poured out of the bottle which leaned on the malty, slightly spiced and sweet side. Flavor is malty all the way through with a decent alcohol kick and a lot of sweetness. Overall a beer good.

Bottle. Clear golden amber colour with a huge well lasting creamy beige head leaving a good lacing. Sweet carame, toasty maltiness and hops. Good soft mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with carazmel, toasted malt, bitter hops, bit of dark fruits and alcohol. Long lasting bitter sweet toasty finish. Quite good ESA.

Bottled. Nooooo... Well, that was my initial rating... I don’t know if it was due to a dirty glass or something else at the restaurant.
