550ml bottle at Blå Rock Cafe. The first snow and frost for the season have already paid a visit to the high north. In Tromsø the days are rapidly getting shorter and colder. So it seems just appropriate to chose a winter warmer among the new arrivals at the cafe last Friday eve.
Cool bottle design supported by a deep amber brown body under an off-white foam with long duration and leaving fragile lacing on the glass. Very nice, indeed. Light aroma of sweet malt with some spiciness. Malty profile with a moderate touch of candy sweetness. Hops, a note of dark fruits and salt prevent the beer from getting too sweet. Slightly bitter finish with noticeable warmth from the alcohol. I’m glad our local cafe will provide us with a few more bottles during the long and dark winter season up north (12.10.2007).

Smells very sweet, like raisin bread almost, very sweet alcohol aroma. Pours a dark honey color with a small fizzy head that disappears quickly. Taste is much better than what is smells like. A nice light slightly bitter malt taste with a slightly watery finish. Not bad, pretty enjoyable.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

550ml Bottle: Pours orange in colour, very good head that didn’t leave. Strong, strong aroma of hops and candy sweetness. The taste is surprisingly light compared to the aroma, more malts than expected. Nice!

550 ml brown bottle, winter 2007-2008, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). BB end of August 08. ABV is 6.0%. Clear amber colour, huge off-white head. Moderate malty aroma, notes of caramel, toffee and biscuits. The flavour is also moderately malty and quite sweet, with notes of treacle, toffee and hints of oak. Moderate hops in the finish. Nothing wrong with it, but not really outstanding. It is quite obvious that this beer is not bottle conditioned.
