Aroma of scotch and malt with some very very light smoke. Taste of light scotch malt with almost no smoke. The body is way too watery for the style with some low carbonation. I was expecting worst considering the brewer but by no mean is this a bad beer. Cartoonkhaki (1151), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Golden amber in colour, thin beige coloured head, some light spotty lacing. The aroma is yeasty, some must, light smoke but you have to search for it. The flavour is sweet, some cookie malts, very light smoke, some lemon citrus. Chalky mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes fairly quick, lightly bitter. Not much of a smoked beer.

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 15, 2006 Updated: Nov 22, 2007Clear amber with a short lived white head (within a few seconds it’s only a ring). I did get some smoke in the nose along with some malt caramel. Taste is mainly single-malt (whiskey type) with some roots (or earthy vegetables, as you want) and a light touch of smoke in the finish. I didn’t find it nearly as bad as many prolific ratebeerians. Decent session beer but the type of taste I quickly get tired of. No mention of any relationship to Unibroue or Sleeman on the label or packaging. As if everybody where ashamed to admit a relationship with it. Kind of like my family and my cousin Louis. jerc (3888), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Dark gold/amber body with a good off white head. Sweet yeasty notes with a lightly smokey aroma. Dilute vaguely smokey flavour. Surprisingly suffers more from a lack of taste than the smoke. Touch of yeast, it definitely shows its Raftman heritage.
