Pours a medium, white, creamy head with a highly carbonated orange-brown body. As many have notes - the yeast in this beer gives its true identity away. its mildly malty but surprisingly watery - some soapiness shows in the finish. Pretty poor showing for Unibroue. hobgoblin (163), St-Épiphane, Quebec, Canada

Taste is roasted malt and cereal. Reminds me the Raftman (unibroue) but cheaper.
Bière de couleur brune avec un mince collet. Odeur légère de malt, céréal et caramel. Goût de malt grillé et céréal. Manque de caractère. Elle ressemble à la Raftman (Unibroue) mais, dillué.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Ordinary aroma of smoked malt. The flavor is not good, there’s a mild smoked malt with a cloying sweetness. The palate is light and oily with lively carbonation. Not good, feels like a cheap imitation of Raftman and I don’t like Raftman. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Scared veggies mar the feeble caramel maltiness, as well as any kind of possible malt flavors...The Belgian-style carbonation projects the earthy, dirty yeast onto whatever fruit esters were intended...Smoked? C’mon...This isn’t even fun to drink... tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2006 Bottle, cheers to Mds for sharing. Medium yellow, small white head. Mild malt aroma, but no smoke. Taste has maybe a hint of smoke, but this seemed more metallic than anything. This was a dry malty brew with a light mouthfeel and lingering hops. Mild and unimpressive, but certainly drinkable. Eructoblaster (1497), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 1, 2006 Bottle. Dark gold body topped with a diminishing off-white bubbly head. Decent malty/hopy aroma with tiny smokey and whisky notes. Taste is not particularly enjoyable. It is watery and carries light woody and metallic hints. It ends with a short dry finish. Boring. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2006 bottle. pale orange-golden with a very short lasting white fluffy head. aroma has the slightest peat malt essence but mostly sweet fruity cereal. it actually tastes alright but there is really nothing to it which seems to be a trend with Sleeman, but that’s not news to anyone. sweet fruity flavour, cereal, bread grains. thin body.
