| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2008 tap at the brewpub - The aroma of this amber ale is surprisingly hoppy. The flavor adds caramel malt and moderate hops intensity, which is high for an amber. For me it works well. This medium bodied beer is better than the rating here suggests. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2008 On tap @ San Diego Brewing brewpub. Pours a clear deep copper that is more amber in a wider glass with off white head. The mild aroma has some roastiness and a hint of bread. The taste begins somewhat with roasty malts and a hint of malt astringency. Midway the mild caramelized malts give way to smooth and understated pine hop bitterness complimenting the style. It ends with mild roasty malts that stretch into the after taste. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2008 On-tap. Pours amber with a thinnish off-white head, spider web lace. Smells caramelly malty sweet and slightly hoppy earthy. Tastes malty, more so than hoppy. The malts are slightly crisp and slightly caramelly, hops are earthy and pretty subdued, only slightly bitter on the finish. Once again, where’s the hops. Medium body, subdued carbonation. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2007 On tap at SDB. Truly an amber pour with an off white head. No nose to speak of. Rich malt with a hop profile that is over the top for an amber. Very soldi palate for the style. Lingering bitter and good malt balance make this beer a very pleasant surprise.
