Starts with a wonderful creamy head due to the nitro. It leaves a nice mustache on your lip. Aroma is of course chocolate and coffee. Flavor is of milk chocolate and toffee, but not over done. It is so smooth and delightful that we returned to the pub 3 times over 4 days to have it. It can also be found at the Liars Club on Mission Blvd. Awesome beer Dean, keep up the good work! Flavor of dark chocolate followed by slight coffee finish. A terrific interpretation of the style and nice dessert beer. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 6, 2008 Had on nitro draft at Sd Brew. Co. Pours a very dark brown with a creamy tan head, great retention. The nose is very full of rich chocolate malts and fresh coffee beans. The mouthfeel is fullbodied and the taste is that of decadent chocolate infused with roasted malts. The finish was very smooth and quite delicious. Thanks for your time and info. on your fantastic beer Dean, again GREAT JOB! bkanderson3 (2), USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 7, 2007 I am not a chocolate fan so was not expecting to like it at first taste. It poured a deep black with rich creamy head. The aroma had a pronounced chocolate and toffee. Moderate body with a well balanced chocolate taste very pleasant easy drinking porter. It’s the kind of session beer you could drink all day, very unusual for a porter. I would highly recommend this beer to everyone.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Nitro tap at brewery. Pours dark brown with a big, creamy, light brown head, sheet lace. Smells subdued malty. Tastes awesome, chocolatey, dark malty, but the sweet chocolate flavors linger very nicely. Solid medium body, smooth as silk carbonation. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Very dark black pour with a really nice head. I didn’t get nearly the aroma I was expecting. Some dust and roast, but no chocolate or coffee. But the flavor really came through with both. Very good flavor with chocolate and coffee, some dust on the finish. Dark brown and almost completely opaque (save for deep garnet highlights) and a moderate sized creamy beige head. Aroma of nice roasty malts, bakers chocolate and espresso beans. Flavor is roasty, bitter and sweet with coffee, milk chocolate and bakers chocolate, light cream and floral hops. Full body with a oily and somewhat still mouthfeel. Nice one Dean! Lots of soft cocoa and chocolate malt. A kiss of coffee but it’s much sweet than the aroma suggests. The sweetness works though and rather than making the beer seem sugary it makes it drink like sweet milk chocolate. Very soft creamy palate with a touch of light toasty bitterness. Pretty damn solid beer, really.
