Commercial Description:
Grantville (as this area was once known) Gold is one of our lighter house beers, but by no means a light beer. This pale gold beer is crisp and refreshing with a clean hop finish and is a great beer for newcomers to craft-brewed beers.

Light straw. Faint nose with a touch of straw. Minerally, husky with an off-dry finish.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear yellow-gold color with a thin and foamy white head that dissipates steadily. Creeping patches of lace. Hops, malt and orange peels in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet grainy malt and fruit, plus some mild hops and spices. The finish is malty and sweet with a light hops aftertaste. Just average overall.

On draft at San Diego Brewing Company. Very interesting for the type, thicker than usual gold style. Nice bananna & slight spiciness.

On tap at SDBC. Pours a crisp golden hue, with a nice malty nose. Flavor has a nice hop balancing along side of the malty notes. Very refreshing and light, nice.

On-tap at the brew-pub. Pours golden orange with a crisp white head, some lace. Smells crisp and malty, slightly honey sweet. Tastes crisp up front and then smooth and sweet on the finish, very nice. Medium body, a little sweet, smooth, syrupy feel to it, good carbonation.
