patrick767 (1403), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jan 24, 2008 tap at the brewpub - Pours hazy orange with a thin head. The aroma is very nice with both pine and citrus notes in the hops. The flavor is similar with the citrus coming through more than the pine and a moderately strong hops profile that’s well balanced by the malt. This one was clearly the star of the brewery sampler for me. Excellent! jcwattsrugger (3862), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 19, 2008 on tap-pours a thin off white head and hazy gold color. Aroma is citrus/pine hops. Taste is citrus/pine hops, secondary medium malt. Mild/minimum carbonation. goldtwins (3731), Nesconset, New York, USA Jan 18, 2008 Draft @ O’brien’s. Poured a slightly hazed amber color with an off-white head. The aroma had a nice hop component. Citrus, pine and floral. Hard to pick up the malt under it. Flavor has less hop complexity. Mainly just grapefruit juice with a mild bitter finish. Semi-dry. Light-medium body. decaturstevo (1192), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jan 16, 2008 At SDBC. A slightly hazed orange/red pour with gooey head and lace. Very mcuh the hints of cat piss from the large hop profile. A bit of grapefruit flavor with not so much malt backbone. Solid mouthfeel and good carbonation. Another solid IPA. Not over the top but very refreshing. Ibrew2or3 (1685), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jan 13, 2008 On tap @ San Diego Brewing brewpub. Pours hazy orange-ish with straw edges, white head and decent lacing. The aroma is freshly sliced tangelo mixed with grapefruit juice. This beer is a hop bomb that tastes as if it’s a normal IPA mixed with freshly squeezed grapefruit and tangelo juice. Fresh!! It seems to begin with hop spice bitterness that quickly becomes grapefruit to tangelo sweet hop flavor blended into hop bitterness. Excellent hoppy brew. The big hops covered up the subtle Belgian yeast character that is in there. I can taste it.
