This beer is perfect for all you hop heads out there! (You know who you are!) <br />Winner of World Beer Cup 2008 Double IPA Gold Medal and Gold Medal Double IPA GABF 2008!

Growler. Light yellow orange pour, medium carbonation with rich aromatic flower, grapefruit and herbal smell. Flavor was sweet, syrupy malts, hops, vanilla, and finished warm with alcohol. SOLID IPA!! Go out of your way to get this one!

sample @ SDBC, courtesy of Dean, brewmaster. Tapped the keg just so I could enjoy it fresh. That beer really live dup to its Gold Medal status. Pours golden/orange, white head. Aroma is hoppy, melon, nice fresh nose, with hints of raspberry. Taste, superbly hoppy, fruity - melon, citrus finish) sweet, some spices, not a hop bomb, though present, it just remains well balanced and easy to drink.

I’m not a hop head... and thus the rating. This is hop hop hoppy! Bitter. Almost like a citrus grapfruit... not earwax like some hopy beers. However for a hop head this is probably top notch.

ON tap at SDBC. I hadn’t been there in a couple months, happy that this one was on tap. Color was orange to amber with an off white head. Aroma was really good and foreshadowed what was to come. Citrus, flowers, caramel and fruit. Flavor was very good and very hop focused. Alot of mesquite/earthiness in the finish. Almost a hint of veggie in there. Citrus, caramel, and juicy fruit. Very good.

(11/5/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in San Diego. 7.5%. Slightly hazy deep golden-amber color, with an off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, tropical fruit notes. Bitter hoppy flavor with grapefruit and some malty, slightly bready, sweetness. Rounded mouthfeel. Quite good.
